Rutgers is based in the Netherlands and has a long history here. As a knowledge centre, Rutgers conduct research on the sexual and reproductive health and rights of young and adults. The results use for advocacy and to develop programmes to improve these health and rights. Rutgers is a leader in comprehensive sexuality education in the Netherlands. The materials developed by the organization are used in primary and secondary schools across the country. Rutgers also addresses the needs of young people attending special schools or in vocational education and vulnerable groups like migrants and refugees. Since 1925, Simavi works to improve the health of marginalized communities in Africa and Asia. Simavi is an international development organization which aims to empower women in marginalized areas to improve their own health, the health of their families and that of the community they live in. The Organization finances and strengthens local organizations in developing countries and stimulates collaborative ventures between organizations working towards that goal. Within its work on SRHR, women's and girls' health is of particular concern. Simavi takes a Rights-Based Approach in its SRHR work. Read more.......





Bandhu Social Welfare Society started its journey in 1996 with a mission to address the health care needs and human rights issues of sexual minority populations for achieving a vision of a Bangladesh where every person, irrespective of their gender and sexuality, is able to lead a quality life with dignity, human rights and social justice.

Today after 20 years, Bandhu is sincerely continuing to serve the communities with undivided commitment and is paving the way for obtaining their social justice, equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).

Bandhu operates within its own strategic plan designed for every five year. The principles, activities and approaches of the Strategic Plan correspond to national priorities for health care interventions and directly linked with current National Strategic Plan for HIV/AIDS response. During the 1990s, education in Bangladesh – particularly primary education –made progress in certain areas. Yet despite the successes, there remained still major deficiencies that needed to be addressed, e.g. with regards to access to education, dropouts and the quality of education. With regards to addressing the deficiencies of the education sector, a need for professional capacity building and institutional capacity development that would serve the education sector was identified.

Since BRAC had long been engaged in developing the education sector, this resulted in discussions between BRAC and BRAC University regarding the establishment of a resource centre that would serve to improve the quality of the education system in our country. In November 2003 a planning seminar was held, which was attended by representatives from the Government of Bangladesh, development partners and education experts from Bangladesh and abroad. There it was agreed that the resource centre would be established under the care of BRAC University and that the centre would deliver materials, skills and knowledge to improve pedagogy, the quality of curricula and learning materials, assessment of learning and management at schools. It was decided that the centre would provide research based innovation, dialogue and advocacy on key policy issues and help in capacity building, knowledge creation and the sharing of good practices in education. নারীপক্ষ’র নারীবাদী অংশগ্রহণমূলক গবেষণা প্রকল্প (এ্যাডভোকেসী পর্ব) এর কুর্মিটোলা ক্যাম্পের নারীর জীবন নিয়ে গবেষণার ফলাফল উপস্থাপন ও মতবিনিময় সভা ৭ জ্যৈষ্ঠ ১৪২৪/২১ মে ২০১৭ মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তর-এর সভাকক্ষে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। উক্ত সভায় সভাপ্রধান ছিলেন সাহিন আহমেদ চৌধুরী, মহা-পরিচালক, মহিলা বিষয়ক অধিদপ্তর, মহিলা ও শিশু বিষয়ক মন্ত্রণালয় এবং অনুষ্ঠানটি সঞ্চালনা করেন নারীপক্ষ’র সভানেত্রী রেহানা সামদানী।

নারীপক্ষ আগস্ট ২০১৫ থেকে নারীবাদী অংশগ্রহণমূলক গবেষণা কর্মসূচি নামে একটি গবেষণা কর্মসূচি পরিচালনা করেছে। এই কর্মসূচিটি ঢাকার মিরপুর এর কালশী এলাকার কুর্মিটোলা ক্যাম্পের (কেটিসি) ঊর্দূভাষী নারীদের নিয়ে। বাংলাদেশে ভাষাগতভাবে সংখ্যালঘু গোষ্ঠীর মধ্যে ঊর্দূভাষী নারীরা যারপরণাই প্রান্তিক এবং তাঁদের সাথে কাজ করছে নগণ্য সংখ্যক বেসরকারী সংস্থা। এই প্রেক্ষিতে নারীপক্ষ ঊর্দূভাষী নারীদের নিয়ে একটি অংশগ্রহণমূলক গবেষণার উদ্যোগ নেয়। Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development  (APWLD) এর আর্থিক ও কারিগরি সহায়তায় গবেষণা কর্মসূচিটি বাস্তবায়িত হয়েছে। এই কর্মসূচির উদ্দেশ্য ছিল পিছিয়ে পড়া ঊর্দূভাষী নারীর জীবন অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়ে গবেষনা, বাস্তবতার আলোকে বিশ্লেষণ ও তাঁদের অধিকার আদায়ে সীমাবদ্ধতা চিহ্নিত করা এবং সীমাবদ্ধতা বিশ্লেষণ করে এ্যাভোকেসী কৌশল নির্ধারণ করা। Read more......
